  17. <p>     She has detailed his emotional distance in a book and in
  18. whiny TV appearances, but Patti Davis apparently doesn't want
  19. the world to know every detail of the strained relationship
  20. she's had with her famous father, Ronald Reagan. Davis is suing
  21. a Los Angeles manuscript broker to retrieve a letter the former
  22. President once sent her. Dealer Charles Sachs says he has a
  23. $20,000 offer for the missive, which he describes as "warm,
  24. thoughtful" but "particularly sensitive." Davis would have to
  25. fork over half the price to get it back, says Sachs. No sale,
  26. says Davis, who claims the letter was not to be offered until
  27. after Reagan's death.
